ACCOMPANYING, CONSECUTIVE, SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETING

Accompanying interpreting

As the name suggests, the interpreter carries out tasks similar to those of a guide, and accompanies foreign groups (for example, during plant visits) where interpreting is carried out in an informal way.

Consecutive interpreting

Consecutive interpreting involves the interpreter waiting until the lecturer completes a train of thought, then interpreting what has been said by conveying the content but not interpreting it word for word. Because of this, consecutive interpreting is more time-consuming than simultaneous interpreting.

Simultaneous interpreting

In simultaneous interpreting, the interpreter usually sits in a closed cabin, listens to the lecturer's speech through headphones, and translates into the microphone as the lecturer speaks. The process is immediate and nigh on simultaneous.

We are convinced that simultaneous interpreting is an activity involving special responsibilities, qualifications and expertise; therefore it is extremely important to select interpreters who have already proved their skill in interpreting similar subjects. Simultaneous interpreting involves exceptional skill; therefore, in accordance with industry standards our interpreters always work in pairs, usually in 20-40 minutes shifts. Any offer we make always takes the above into account .
